Who Knew the Ridpath Girl

A gripping mystery for fans of Angie Kim and Listen for the Lie following three characters investigating the death of a young girl years before: the brother, the best friend, and the detective searching for connections as a string of new murders upend the community, forcing them all to question what pasts should remain buried.

Gracen Ridpath, host of the successful YouTube channel for stay-at-home dads, "Gracen Stays Home", is known for his handy tips and trademark self-deprecating humor. But off camera, Gracen struggles with recurrent depression and an eating disorder, the aftereffects of a tragedy that shaped him and everyone else in his hometown of Meander.

When Gracen mentions his sister Douggy’s long-ago death for the first time on his channel, he taps a vein of interest he hadn’t known existed and finds himself discussing a theory he’s kept to himself for years: that Douggy chose to die. That at ten years old, she purposefully ingested Death Cap mushrooms. And he’s finally figured out why . . . and who is to blame. 

At first, Gracen enjoys the jump in views, but soon enough his shift in content brings Quinn, Douggy’s childhood best friend, back to Meander, looking for answers. And when people start dying around them and Detective Kirsten Boon of the Melakwa County Sheriff’s office arrives in town, Quinn and Gracen find themselves at the center of an investigation that will prove to have deadly consequences.
